Japan offers one of the most fascinating golf experiences anywhere in the world. From immaculately presented courses and unique traditions to outstanding hospitality and unforgettable scenery, this trip has been designed to showcase the very best of Japanese golf and culture.
We'll travel from the bright lights of Tokyo to the shadow of Mount Fuji, experience the historic charm of Kyoto and finish in the Kansai region, enjoying some of Japan's most celebrated golfing destinations along the way. We'll take in the rituals of lunch after 9 holes and, for those who want, a traditional onsen bath after the round.
Alongside the golf, there will be opportunities to experience Japanese cuisine, culture and everyday life, giving a genuine sense of what makes the country so special.
One of the unique aspects of golf in Japan is that many of the country's exclusive clubs will only confirm tee times to us much closer to the date of play. As a result, I have shown here a selection of courses we may play, rather than a final confirmed schedule.
The rounds at the highest ranked course, Kawana, are confirmed. The other courses have been chosen for their quality, character and reputation, ensuring we'll have a great experience regardless of the final line-up.
With a fantastic group of like-minded golfers, world-class hospitality and access to some of Japan's finest golf, this promises to be a memorable adventure both on and off the course.

You should make your own way to our hotel in central Tokyo on arrival. There are trains directly from Narita to the hotel, or car transfers are also available.
The Tokyo Station Hotel, situated in the heart of Japan's bustling capital, stands as an iconic symbol of the city's rich history and modern luxury.
The hotel seamlessly combines classic European design with contemporary amenities. Originally built in 1915 and meticulously restored, it exudes timeless elegance and sophistication.
Guests are treated to exceptional dining options, including Michelin-starred restaurants, while the historic ambiance of the premises adds a unique charm.
We will have a welcome dinner as a group tonight.
Yokohama Country Club was founded in 1960 and over the following six years architect Takeo Aiyama designed and built both the East and West 18-hole layouts. The West course hosted the 1978 Japan Open, which was one of the first professional events won by Seve Ballesteros, and will host the event again, in 2027.
The West underwent a major renovation in 2014/15 by Coore & Crenshaw. The upgrade involved reconstructing and raising the height of every tee. The old double greens on every hole were also replaced with single greens and sub air systems were installed to cool the bent grass putting surfaces during the summer.
Set across a broad, gently undulating property in Chiba Prefecture, Sumire course combines generous fairways with strategic choices. Mature pine trees frame many holes, shaping sightlines and demanding careful positioning from the tee.
Recent architectural refinements have strengthened the bunkering and green complexes, and like many leading Japanese clubs, Sumire employs a two-green system, with the alternate targets subtly changing angles of approach and playing strategy.
Narashino Country Club offers a distinctive blend of traditional Japanese design and championship-quality conditioning. Set among mature pines east of Tokyo, the club's King and Queen courses combine tree-lined fairway and strategic bunkering. The terrain is largely gentle, but the course gains much of its challenge from narrow landing areas, well-protected greens and the use of water across several holes. A notable feature is the traditional Japanese two-green system, which helps maintain exceptional playing surfaces throughout the year.
Set on the northern slopes of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture, Narusawa Golf Club combines expansive mountain scenery with a strategic woodland layout. Opened in 1993, the course sits more than 1,000 metres above sea level, providing cooler summer conditions and clear views of Japan’s most recognisable peak. Fairways are generous and largely framed by red pine and birch, but a series of well-positioned ponds and subtly contoured greens ensure accuracy remains important throughout the round.
Established in 1958 in Gotemba, Shizuoka, Fuji Country Club is historic landmark in Japanese golf. Designed by legendary architect Shiro Akahoshi, who was deeply influenced by British master C.H. Alison, this prestigious 18-hole championship course skillfully leverages the region’s natural, rolling topography.
The layout is celebrated for its strategic complexity, demanding precise shot-making past mature trees, clever bunkering, and fast, subtle greens.
Fujizakura Country Club sits at 1,000 metres on the northern slopes of Mount Fuji, where red pines, larch forests and ever-present mountain views define the landscape. Opened in 1975, the course is the long-time home of the Fujisankei Classic and has developed a reputation as one of the country’s sternest tournament tests.
Long par fours, subtly shaped fairways and some of the most challenging greens in Japan place a premium on positioning and distance control.
Nestled at the northern base of Mt. Fuji, Kawaguchiko Country Club is a prestigious 27-hole championship golf course. The club features three distinct 9-hole loops: the North, East, and West courses.
Each course is carved out of dense larch and red pine forest, providing a secluded atmosphere. The layout is famous for its strategic bunkering, rolling fairways, and challenging, fast-creeping bentgrass greens.
Overlooking the Pacific coast on the Izu Peninsula, Kawana Hotel remains one of Japan’s classic golf hotels. Opened in 1928, it is inseparable from the neighbouring Kawana Golf Links, particularly the celebrated Fuji Course, whose cliff-edge holes rank among the most dramatic in the country. The hotel retains much of its original character, with broad public rooms and sea-facing terraces
The restaurants and lounges make full use of the ocean views. For golfers, few hotels in Japan are tied so closely to the identity of the course itself.
The CH Alison course was opened in 1936. There was already a proposed routing for the course but Alison, (who was over working on Hirono) started again, to great effect.
The site here makes for a pretty wonderful setting - the course winds in and out of a dramatic rocky coastline. While you never exactly get to feel the spray in your face the course really does make the most of its location. You find yourself going back and forth to the water several times and even on the inland holes you get a good view of the sea and always feel in touch with the surroundings. Throw in views of Mount Fuji too and this really is a special place to play.
The course has been firmly in the World Top 100 list for many years and has risen following work in recent years.

Set in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, this DoubleTree property is within walking distance of Kiyomizu-dera, Sanjusangendo and the narrow streets that define the eastern side of the city. The hotel combines contemporary Hilton standards with Japanese design details including a public bath for guests. Rooms are compact but well organised. The restaurant serves both Japanese and Western breakfast options.

Established in 1987 in Nishiwaki, Hyogo, Golden Valley Golf Club is an acclaimed course designed by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. True to his signature philosophy of "risk and reward," the course boasts a formidable slope rating of 77.4, rendering it one of Japan's most elite and rigorous tournament venues.
Jones integrated three mountain streams into the design, weaving them into a secluded pine valley. As a result, water is an omnipresent hazard, directly impacting 16 of the 18 holes through rocky creeks and expansive lakes. Featuring massive, undulating single bentgrass greens, Golden Valley stands as a breathtaking yet unforgiving test of precision.
Established in 1920 in Kawanishi, Hyogo, Naruo Golf Club is one of Japan’s oldest, most revered golden-age courses. Originally routed by the Crane brothers, the course reached a new level in 1931 when master British architect Charles H. Alison redesigned it, imparting his signature deep, penal "Alison bunkers."
Stretching across undulating, tree-lined parkland, this highly exclusive private club is uniquely characterized by its traditional, coarse-textured korai (Japanese Zoysia) grass greens. These small, elevated, and deceptively slow putting surfaces demand exacting aerial approaches and precise placement. Naruo offers a quirky, demanding, and timelessly authentic test of strategic shot-making steeped in classic British-Japanese golfing heritage.
Located just outside downtown Kobe, Hyogo, Rokko Kokusai Golf Club is a prestigious 36-hole championship venue revered for its elite tournament pedigree. Opened in 1975 by architect Fukuichi Kato, the club underwent a major transformation in 1996 when it was redesigned under the supervision of golf legend Jack Nicklaus.
The club features two contrasting 18-hole layouts set against the majestic Rokko Mountains. The daunting East Course spans an expansive, tree-lined 7,416 yards, demanding exceptional distance and precision past deep bunkers and multi-tiered bentgrass greens. In contrast, the shorter West Course offers a strategic, American-style layout rich with water hazards. It stands as a premier test, famously hosting the Japan Open and the annual LPGA Suntory Ladies Open.
Occupying a prominent position in Kobe’s former foreign settlement, the Oriental Hotel combines contemporary luxury with a history that stretches back to 1870, making it one of Japan’s oldest hotel names. The current property reopened in 2010 and sits within the heart of the city's historic waterfront district, close to the boutiques, cafés and broad avenues that distinguish this part of Kobe.
Interiors balance modern design with references to Kobe’s international trading heritage, while the top-floor restaurants and bar take advantage of sweeping city views.

Established in 1937 in the coastal town of Misaki, Osaka Golf Club is a historic course and the only true seaside championship course in the Kansai region. Designed by architect Osamu Ueda, this revered 18-hole layout is beautifully sculpted along the high cliffs overlooking Osaka Bay, offering breathtaking ocean views.
Swirling, unpredictable sea breezes demand exceptional club selection, while multi-tiered greens and deep Alison-style bunkers fiercely guard the holes. Celebrated alongside Kanto’s iconic Kawana, Osaka Golf Club stands as a ruggedly beautiful, bucket-list venue that perfectly blends dramatic ocean views with classic Japanese design heritage.
Directly connected to Kansai International Airport Terminal 1 by a covered walkway, Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport is the most convenient overnight stop for arrivals and departures in the Osaka region. As the only full-service hotel located on the airport island, it combines immediate access to the terminal and rail station with the facilities expected of an international hotel.
The hotel offers spacious, well-equipped rooms that are larger than many airport hotels in Japan, making it particularly practical for golfers travelling with luggage and equipment. Several restaurants cover Japanese, Chinese and Western cuisine, while the Aeroplaza complex beside the hotel provides additional dining and shopping options.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The balance will be due 90 days before the trip.
You can pay in British pounds or US dollars. If you pay in dollars the price will be converted on the day of payment at a competitive exchange and the amount will be advised when you check out.
International clients can pay by ACH (no extra charge) or Visa/Mastercard (2.9% fee) or Amex (3.9% fee). These fees go directly to our payment provider, not Outpost Overseas.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – OUTPOST OVERSEAS LTD
Introduction
This document forms the basis of your contract with Outpost Overseas Ltd, a registered company in Scotland. Please read it carefully, as it outlines your rights and obligations. By booking with us, you agree to these terms on behalf of all participants for whom you are making payment.
1. Booking and Payment
Booking Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit and send you a confirmation. Until then, your booking is provisional.
Deposits
A non refundable deposit of 50 percent, or as otherwise specified, is required at the time of booking. For bookings made within 12 weeks of departure, full payment is required immediately.
Final Payment
The full balance must be paid no later than 12 weeks before your trip begins, unless otherwise specified. If payment is not received on time, we may cancel your booking and retain your deposit. Failure to meet the payment schedule will be treated as a cancellation by you.
Payment Methods
We accept payments via bank transfer or credit card, payable in British pounds. Credit card payments from outside the United Kingdom will incur a surcharge - 2.9% for Visa or Mastercard and 3.9% for Amex.
2. Cancellations
Cancellations by You
Full cancellations within 12 weeks of the trip are subject to a 100 percent charge. Deposits are non refundable. For cancellations made more than 12 weeks before departure, the deposit will be retained.
If a group member cancels, the price per person may increase. It is the responsibility of the group to ensure that any replacement meets all trip requirements, including handicap limits set by the golf courses. Replacements are allowed with prior notice, but any supplier charges arising from a replacement will be passed on to you.

Cancellations by Us
If we need to cancel any elements of your trip due to unforeseen circumstances or supplier issues, we will notify you and provide a suitable alternative or an appropriate refund for the services not provided.
No Refunds for Unused Services
No refunds will be issued for unused services such as missed golf or sightseeing activities, including situations caused by customer delays or personal choices.

3. Force Majeure (Unforeseeable Events)
We are not responsible for any cancellations, delays, changes or failures in the performance of your trip caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These events can include natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government actions, strikes, terrorism, technical issues, or any other circumstances that could not reasonably have been foreseen or avoided. This list is not exhaustive.
In the event of force majeure, we will seek to obtain any refunds or alternatives offered by our suppliers. Refunds or adjustments can only be provided to the extent that our suppliers allow them. We cannot guarantee compensation or reimbursement for elements that suppliers decline to refund.
We are not responsible for any additional costs you may incur as a result of such events, including new flights, extended accommodation, extra transport, or other related expenses.
It may be necessary to alter itineraries, tee times, or arrangements due to force majeure. Such changes do not entitle you to compensation or a refund beyond what our suppliers provide.
4. Travel Delays and Missed Connections
In the event of flight delays or other delays affecting your arrival for the start of the trip, you must contact your transport provider immediately. You are responsible for planning your travel schedule to allow sufficient time to arrive on schedule for all booked services.
We are not responsible for missed services caused by delays, cancellations, or schedule changes by airlines or any other arrival transport providers. Missed services of any kind, including golf rounds or transfers, cannot be refunded.
Any additional costs arising from arrival delays, such as replacement transport, accommodation, or missed activities, are your responsibility.
5. Changes
Date Changes
No changes to dates may be made after your booking is confirmed.
Name Changes
If you need to change the names of participants, we will attempt to accommodate the request if it is communicated before the final deposit is made. Any supplier fees arising from a name change will be passed on to you. Some courses do not allow multiple name changes after booking.
Group Size Adjustments
If the number of participants in your group changes, the price per person may be adjusted. If numbers change, a revised price schedule will be issued and must be accepted. Additional costs may apply if fewer people participate than originally booked due to the redistribution of expenses such as transport or accommodation.
Changes After Confirmation
Once services have been confirmed, any changes are subject to availability and the policies of our suppliers.
6. Passports, Visas, and Documentation
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid passport and any visas required for your destination. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your return.
You are responsible for checking and complying with any health, vaccination, or medical documentation requirements for entry into the countries you are visiting.
You must ensure that all personal information provided for travel documents is accurate and matches any flight tickets or reservations.
We are not responsible if you are refused entry to a country due to issues with your passport, visa, health documentation, or any decisions made by border authorities.
7. Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellations, medical emergencies, delays, and lost or damaged belongings.
We do not provide insurance advice or sell insurance policies.
If you choose to travel without appropriate insurance, you do so entirely at your own risk.
8. Golf Course Requirements and Behaviour
Most golf courses have a maximum handicap requirement. In the UK this is typically 24, however some English courses have a maximum of 18.4. If this may be an issue for any member of your group, please contact us before booking. Courses may require proof of handicap before play, and failure to meet these requirements may result in refusal of play with no refund.
All golfers must comply with the rules and regulations of each golf course, including attire standards, pace of play, safety rules, and any instructions given by course staff or marshals.
If a golf course is open for play and you decide not to play due to concerns about weather or course conditions, no refund will be provided.
You and your group are expected to behave appropriately at all times. If anyone’s behaviour causes distress or danger to others, we reserve the right to terminate that individual’s participation in the trip without a refund. Any additional costs arising from removal due to behaviour, such as transport or accommodation expenses, will be your responsibility.
9. Special Requests
Caddies can be requested, but availability is never guaranteed and will be arranged on a best endeavours basis only. Special requests of any kind are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
Most courses in the UK and Ireland are traditional walking courses. Some courses have very limited carts with strict medical thresholds for use, and others do not have carts at all. If the availability of a cart is essential to your decision to travel, you must ensure this can be secured at the time of booking. Some courses may require advance submission of appropriate medical documentation.
All fees for caddies or carts, including any gratuities, must be paid by you unless otherwise stated in your itinerary.
10. Complaints
If something goes wrong during your trip, you must inform us as soon as possible so that we have the opportunity to resolve the issue at the time. Failure to raise a problem during the trip may reduce our ability to investigate or resolve it later.
If an issue cannot be resolved during your trip, any formal complaint must be submitted in writing by the lead booker within 28 days of your return. Compensation cannot be considered for matters that were not reported during the trip unless it was genuinely impossible to do so at the time.

11. Liability
We arrange travel and golf services on your behalf and act as an agent for third party providers such as hotels, transport companies, and golf courses. As such, we are not responsible for the performance, omissions, or failures of these third party services. Any claims relating to the delivery or standard of services provided by a supplier must be directed to that supplier.
Our liability to you is limited to the total cost of your booking. We are not liable for any loss of personal items, including but not limited to luggage, golf clubs, equipment, money, or valuables.
We are not liable for any consequential or indirect losses, including loss of earnings, additional travel expenses, or costs arising from missed services or delays caused by weather, transport disruptions, or other factors outside our control.
You participate in all activities, including golf, travel, and any optional excursions, at your own risk. We are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or medical expenses arising during your trip unless caused by our proven negligence.
We are not liable for any losses, damages, or disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, government actions, strikes, or similar circumstances.
12. Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. All parties agree that any disputes arising under these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
